Position Description: Network Runners is seeking aLicensed Practical Nurse (LPN)Clerk to support the Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC), 720th Special Tactics Group (720th STG), and Special Tactics Training Squadron (STTS). The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides utilization management and outpatient nursing services in support of the Operational Clinical Support Unit. The LPN reviews and processes referrals, validates medical services, assists with waiver and grounding management, maintains exam rooms, and supports physicians during examinations and diagnostic procedures. Duties and Responsibilities:
Review referrals for administrative and clinical completeness and appropriateness; validate requested medical services and collaborate with TRICARE regional and MTF liaison staff to resolve process issues.
Coordinate with specialty clinics to obtain patient instructions or tests required prior to appointments; verify beneficiary eligibility using DEERS.
Assist providers with Line‑of‑Duty reports, obtain pertinent information from patients and providers, and enter data in CHCS, AHLTA, MHS Genesis, JLV and other office automation programs.
Maintain patient exam rooms and ensure they are presentable, cleaned daily and stocked with necessary medical supplies.
Assist physicians in preparing patients for examination, treatment and diagnostic procedures; assemble, operate and perform routine maintenance on electrocardiogram equipment and ensure procedure logs are completed and stored.
Perform portions of medical treatment, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using the nursing process to promote and maintain patient health.
Assist with waiver management using AIMWTS and maintain grounding management using ASIMS.
Conduct paraprofessional portions of initial flying class and special warfare physicals; enter clinical data into PEPP and manage the physical process to completion.
Conduct physical exams and screenings for SOF selection, qualification and training.
Assist with Medical Evaluation Board (MEB) processes and record review in lieu of (RILO); prepare and oversee management reports and follow up with members in Duties Not Involving Flying (DNIF) status.
Required/Desired Skills and Experience:
Graduate from a state or nationally accredited nursing program (community college, junior college, college, university or vocational nursing program).
Current, active, full and unrestricted license as a practical nurse in the United States; license must not be under investigation or have adverse actions pending.
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
Minimum of two (2) years of practical nursing experience.
Knowledge and computer literacy to interpret and apply medical care criteria to electronic medical records.
Working knowledge of Ambulatory Procedure Grouping (APGs), Diagnostic Related Grouping (DRGs), International Classification of Diseases (ICD‑10), Current Procedural Terminology (CPT‑4), Medical Standards Directory (MSD), Physical Examination Matrix (PEM) and waiver procedures.
Proficiency with CHCS, MHS Genesis, Citrix applications, Joint Legacy Viewer (JLV), AHLTA, AIMWTS, ASIMS, PEPP and ICD‑B programs for referral management.
Ability to work in a primarily sedentary role with some physical demands, including walking throughout the facility to pick up referral requests, medical records and radiology results.
